Do you ever get tired of working on large projects and just want to do something that only takes you a couple hours max to complete? I was at that point last weekend.
We have a friend who was having a birthday and wanted to go see a country band for his birthday. Of course, when a cowgirl is out on the town she needs a little wristlet to hold all of her necessities.
First, you must know that I am not a great sewer. I can hem and I can make a fine pillow…but, that is really the extent of my abilities. I have never sewn anything from a pattern except for a pair of pants in 7th grade home-economics.
I was, however, inspired by this cute little wristlet I saw last week and thought I would at least try. Made By Rae has a great tutorial on how to put the wristlet together. I never would have attempted without her step by step instructions.
My wristlet looks a little longer because I made my own pattern using a water glass and a ruler but, she has a pattern on her site as well. And, I went with jeans instead of chevron…more country don’t you think??
I used an old remnant that I had leftover from a pillow project to make the lining.
I used a tutorial from Craftaholics Anonymous to create a few rosettes to put on the front. And, then I had a fun little wristlet that any girl can two- step with.
Now I have to get back to all of the projects that are awaiting my return…
