Bargain Hunting

Oh how I love a bargain!  This past week I was invited by my dear friend Paula to an unusual event…an auditorium sale! I am not one to say no to a shopping adventure so of course I had to tag along and see what this was all about!

We traveled about an hour to a town with a population of next to nothing. Waited in the rain in a crowd of people just dying to get in the doors first. And, when we finally were herded in, we ran for any great deals we could get our hands on!! Well, maybe Paula more so than myself. Smile

So much fun! It was slasher sale from a pretty high end furniture store and we both got some pretty great deals that day!

I saw someone carrying this horse around the entire time I was there just wishing that I had got to it first.  At the checkout, that lady decided not to get the horse and I was just lucky enough to to be standing right there and snatch it up…for $3!!  I am guessing she didn’t realize what the price was!

In the hustle and bustle I did not capture any pics of the sale but was able to grab a few later that day as we headed to lunch.

Check this out, the cutest little sandwich shop I have ever seen!

Just inside you are greeted by this adorable clock…

What do you think of these amazingly clever tables??  Those are little game pieces inside of each section of the table.

Okay, I am weird…I even took a picture of the walls of the bathroom.

Of course I had to include a picture of my sandwich with the most unique number holder I have ever seen…I am totally going to steal this idea and use it with place cards!!  And, by the way, the sandwich was amazing!!

After lunch we hit another store…can’t leave town without making sure you have seen it all…right?

Here are a few of the cool things that I fell in love with…

What is not to love here?  The metal walls, rustic cabinet, and omg… I love that dog picture!!

I am such a fool for numbers…the pillows were $50 each and I came close to just getting them.  But the cheapskate in me said that first I should try to recreate them on my own.  We’ll see what happens.  If anyone knows of a great fabric please send the info my way or I may have to do some stenciling.

I totally fell in love with the walls covered in old grain sacks!  You just never know where you are going to get great inspiration for your next project.

It is so fun to get off the beaten path and go to places that you have not been before and to do it in great company makes it even better!

  1. ??? You didn't call me to go along???
What a great find for $3- can't believe anyone in their right mind would put that horse down. Good thing she lost her noodle for a minute and did, though!
Looks like a great time. :)

  3. Love the horse, and the dog, and the pillows, and . . . and . . . Have you ever checked out spoonflower.com ? You can design your own fabric or buy fabric that others have designed. I did a quick search in the shop with the word "numbers" and there are several pages full of cute fabric. Have fun looking!
