White All the Way!

Happy Monday!  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I had a great weekend!  Saturday was great weather and my husband and I were able to go out for lunch and on a little scouting mission.  Found some really cool stuff that I will share later this week.

Sunday…ah, Sunday!  My favorite day of the week!  Finally was able to make some headway on my bedroom makeover.

I decided a few weeks ago that I was going to paint all of the trim work in my room white. I removed all of the base moldings, taped off the door and and window moldings and was able to get all of the window and door moldings painted!!

This was truly the hardest part…why are there 14- 2inch nails holding on a 4 ft. piece of trim??

Is this the ugliest wood you have ever seen?  Yeah, me too!

Here’s my puppy, Chloe, helping out!!

Look at the difference!  I am totally loving the white!  So worth the 4 coats of paint that I had to put on…yes, I said 4 coats!

Sorry, not the best pic of the window…got very ambitious and already hung up the blinds…going to go with different curtains…but needed to get these off the floor and out of my way!!

So now today I am working on doing the base moldings.  Usually I would take things to our shop to paint them but:  1. no school so the kids are home  2.  we are in a winter weather advisory  and of course 3.  I wrecked my car last week and don’t have a way to haul them. Sad smile

So I compromised…

Kind of liking the set up!

I am hoping that no dining room table means that I don’t have to cook tonight!!

Boy, this looks like I have a long way to go!  Planning on doing the whole house eventually…

  4. It looks great, I have to do this too and I'm not looking forward to it. After looking at yours though and how nice it looks white I know I want to really do it, does that make sense? LOL
