It is finally done!! Started on New Years Eve, completed mid February. That’s not so bad. Right??
This bathroom is a big departure from my normal decorating style. I have been doing dark colors for so long and desperately wanted to change it up. Well, it is very white and wow does it look a lot bigger!!
Beware…many, many pics coming your way!
Here are the before pics. Notice the yucky builders paint, brown linoleum, and lack of any kind of glam.
Now for a few “in progress” pics.
First up the walls were painted with Benjamin Moore’s “Decorators White”. I have painted nearly every surface in my home at some point...why then did I almost lose my life several times during this project? The forces of nature were clearly working against me that day. Just to make things clear I guess I am know to push everything a little too far. I am told. You know how it is when you see a spot you missed and you don't want to move your chair/ladder and you decide to just reach for it?? Ok, I had a few of those that day and things did not turn out for the best.
Then, glass tile was installed on one wall.
And then the floor tile! My age is creeping up on me...my knees and wrists were sore for a week after all of the tiling! All of the wall trim was also painted the same white.
And now…the big reveal!!
I am loving the neutral colors. I did decide to keep my blue shower curtain for now. I bought a white one but almost feel like the space needs a little bit of color. And now that I have come this far I am contemplating painting the cabinets white as well. Any thoughts??
It is so nice just to have it freshened up and lightened up…now off to finish the bedroom!

What a fabulous makeover. I love the blue shower curtain - I think that was a great idea. It certainly looks great now, but I think it would also look great with the cabinets painted white. I don't think you could lose either way. I'm so glad you shared at our Link It Up Thursday party!
ReplyDeleteSigh, what I wouldn't give to even have your before bathroom.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
I'm with Jennifer above...I'd take your Before look over what I have. I think painting the cabinets might give it a brighter look, or maybe a sand color instead of white, but it's pretty the way it is.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great transformation! I love the tile!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous- I love the tiling on the walls and the floors and all the accessories are fantastic. You just can't go wrong with a basket !!!
ReplyDeleteGreat makeover! Love the glass tile and how you put the baskets on the wall as shelves!

Those glass tiles are simply marvelous! All those neutral colors made the bathroom sunnier and more elegant. I think painting the cabinets white would go great with those glass tiles as well. If you ever decide on changing their colors, do post some pictures, please. =)
