Crazy Days!

Hope that everyone had a great Valentine’s Day!  Along with Valentine’s Day, February 14th is also my anniversary.  Yesterday my husband and I celebrated 15 years.  I just have to say upfront that I am married to the kindest, funniest, most handsome man that I have ever met.  Yesterday he surprised me with the ultimate gift.  I am never surprised…yesterday I was blown away.  Check out what he got me!!!

I absolutely L-O-V-E turquois jewelry…I had seen these piece at an antique store a few months back and was totally in love with it…but was not in love with the price…uhhh!    So needless to say, I was shocked to get it yesterday.  I am so in love!  It is made by a award winning Navajo artist named Leo Yazzie.  Isn’t it amazing?  I have never owned anything this beautiful in my life!  I feel like I need to get a new outfit just to wear it!

Ok, so I was riding pretty high yesterday….then today rolled around!

Just need to start this off by saying that I have what some may refer to as an extreme obsession with Diet Mountain Dew.

Had the kids all packed in the car to get them to school.  Running a few minutes behind of course.  Was pulling out of the garage and realized that I had forgot to grab a Diet Mountain Dew off of the garage step.  Pulled the car back in…not far enough, couldn’t grab it.  Pulled the car in a little further and got out to grab the Dew and inadvertently put the car in reverse instead of in park.  Car started rolling out of the garage, hitting the steps, trapping me between the garage and the car.  At the last second I was able to jump in the car and put the car in park.

I am fine.  A few scratches and bruises.  Ego extremely wounded.    My car did not fair as well.  The car door bent completely back and was wedged into my garage.  Need a new door and a new fender and of course new hinges.  Looking back I can see that things could have turned out way worse.  Check out the damage!

So, my dear, sweet husband came home and saved the day!  He has me all fixed up with another car and drove this car, with the door open, 20 miles on the interstate to take it to our shop.  I so love this man.  He has taken care of everything and not at one time has he given me any grief about what happened!

So here is to better days ahead where I will most likely be sporting my new bracelet on one hand and my Diet Mountain Dew in other!!

  1. That bracelet is beautiful, my bff and I would have snatched it up in a heartbeat! Sorry about the car, crazy how things happen, I scrapped the side of my car while trying to get my cell phone out of my handbag so I know how you feel!
